Liquid AI is playing a smart vertical game: instead of chasing frontier scale, it pairs compact LFMs with a purpose-built serving stack, which is exactly where real-time applications live. The catch is that the headline numbers come from a self-chosen comparison — vLLM is a general-purpose engine never tuned for this workload, so the 14-28x gap flatters RIPL. Still, sub-50 ms p95 latency is a genuine differentiator for voice agents, robotics and interactive apps where every millisecond is user-visible. If independent benchmarks confirm even part of the gain, Liquid AI has a defensible niche in real-time inference. Worth watching whether the engine stays locked to Liquid's own models or opens up.
Liquid AI Launches RIPL, a Real-Time Inference Engine for Sub-50 ms LFMs
Liquid AI released RIPL, a real-time inference engine for its LFM models. On one B200, LFM2.5-1.2B on RIPL showed 14.4 to 28.4x lower p95 latency than Qwen3.5-0.8B on vLLM. The post Liquid AI Launches RIPL, a Real-Time Inference Engine for Sub-50 ms LFMs appeared first on Mar…
