Microsoft Open-Sources Agensh
Open-sourcing Agensh is a genuinely useful contribution to the multi-agent field, though the headline number deserves scrutiny. Spawning 1,024 agents is trivial; the interesting part is the coordination model, where a shared Git repo, chat and findings board replace a central planner — essentially stigmergy for code.… more
On our view, the real question is whether marginal returns hold at that scale or whether most gains arrive by a few dozen workers and the rest is compute theater. A 6-hour budget on ProgramBench is a reasonable start, but cost-per-task and failure modes under swarm noise matter more than peak agent counts. Expect rapid forking into production pipelines either way.
Microsoft Open-Sources Agensh: A Multi-Agent Harness for 1,024 Agents
Microsoft Research open-sourced Agensh, a multi-agent harness with no central orchestrator. Self-organizing workers share a Git repo, chat and a findings board, scaling from 1 to 1,024 agents on ProgramBench under a 6-hour budget. The post Microsoft Open-Sources Agensh: A Multi-…
